Job Summary
Provides support and project management for the CEPD team in order to meet all goals and metrics. Coordinates and facilitates project deliverables and events for the Career Engagement and Professional Development Team (CEPD). Is responsible for internal group processes to include faculty and staff requests for presentations or support, manage orientation sessions to ensure Career Center presence, and focus on all CEPD scheduling of events to support online and on-campus students in partnership with other key members of the Career Development Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Program Management to include project planning, event logistics, scheduling and coordinating events such as faculty and staff presentation scheduling, workshop coordination and program management of new events for the CEPD team, oversee the creation of a calendar of events, and the submission of events to the Project Management Team according to that group’s procedures.
- Serve as a liaison with internal and external constituents.
- Coordinates and works with students, faculty, staff, and administrators across campus to schedule events, register students for events, and find speakers and locations.
- Assist with student and career-related events and programs.
- Responsible for process improvements to ensure seamless experiences ongoing.
- Responsible for managing external employer development programs such as the DART Leadership Immersion Sessions.
- Collect information/data from students and student surveys on CEPD experiences, outcomes, satisfaction levels, etc.
- Create and launch surveys/assessments. Partner with the Project Management Team to provide metric information as required for metrics and goal management.
- Review and maintain consistent formatting and structure for program materials in conjunction with the CEPD team.
- May conduct orientation information sessions.
- Assist with standardization and centralization of UTA and CEPD procedures and logistics for internal stakeholders (faculty/staff/students).
- Oversee the partnership with Handshake to ensure UTA is leveraging the platform as intended.
- May supervise student worker(s) for project execution and or to support the Career Spots Drop-in Program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Education, or a related field and one (1) year of related experience.
- In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, equivalent combination of education and related work experience such as project management, career advising, human resources, training and development working with students in a university setting, student services, internship coordination, or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Handshake.
- Demonstrated knowledge of career planning and development.
- Experience working in a university career center with historically underrepresented populations and experience conducting workshops/seminars.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with employers, faculty, staff, and students.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Strong organizational skills to coordinate and manage multiple internship programs simultaneously.
- Attention to detail to ensure compliance with university requirements and government internship regulations.
- Ability to draft, edit, and prepare correspondence, reports, and other materials using word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Proficient in using technology tools such as online surveys and assessments to collect data from employers and students.
- Strong leadership skills to supervise student workers and collaborate with employer advisory groups and teams.
- Solid verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
