AEROSPACE PAINTER
Looking to immediately fill an Aerospace Painter position at a small aerospace metal finishing/chemical processing company in Gardena (Los Angeles metro area). We need an experienced aerospace painter who has previous metal finishing/chemical processing experience – preferred in a NADCAP setting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
· 2 year minimum painting experience within Aerospace Chemical Processing environment – epoxy/waterborne primers and topcoats, aerospace bonding primers, and dry film painting experience
· Ability to read / write and understand the requirements of shop work order and written GSPMF & and applicable standards that are part of the Paint department
· Demonstrates accuracy and abilities to perform tasks. Actively engaged in continuous improvement opportunities.
· Organized and capable of good follow up.
· Good communication skills - written and verbal.
· Training and course work in related technical areas.
GENERAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Understanding of equipment & proper techniques of all paint equipment.
· Perform all prime, paint and dry film application activities per work instructions.
· Read and interpret work order instructions/specifications.
· Perform inspection per work instruction to the onset of prime/paint operation.
· Paint per work order (record results on work traveler, dimensions, temperature, mix times as required on daily log sheets.
· Ensure proper levels of inventory of primer, paints, dry film are maintained and accounted for.
· Understand and complete daily tasks assigned by shop foreman.
· Adhere to all quality assurance requirements and include them as part of daily duties.
· Adhere to all safety & environmental requirements.
· Ensure that all operations are noted and accounted for on work traveler.
· Responsible for notifying quality department and operations management of any discrepancies of parts or counts.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
- Requires standing for extended periods of time

The selected candidate is also willing and able to perform non-paint related jobs as needed during times when painting work does not fill the whole workday.
The pay range for this position is from $21.00 to 27.00 / HR (or salary equivalent) - DOE. Actual pay rates are determined on a case-by-case basis and take into consideration a wide range of factors, including a person's skills, qualifications and experience as well as general market and business conditions.
