Therapist Role/Responsibilities
Blanton-Peale is seeking Fee-For-Service Therapists (part-time W2 employment position) to join its growing team of mental health professionals while earning hours towards your clinical licensure. Blanton-Peale Therapists are licensed (and in-training) mental health professionals treating clients through a variety of clinical perspectives and modalities. The therapist conducts psychotherapy sessions with individual clients and couples and completes all clinical documentation (treatment plans, progress notes, case summaries, etc.) in a timely manner. Therapists can also choose to complete initial intake assessments if they are interested. Therapists set their own schedules and have input into their caseload. New Hires are asked to have a minimum caseload of 5 clients (sessions) per week. This hybrid role allows therapists to do teletherapy and/or in-person sessions at our offices conveniently located near Herald Square and multiple transportation options.
Company Description
In today's world, we all recognize the vital importance of mental health care. At Blanton-Peale, we're focused on providing affordable, accessible, holistic, and culturally responsive mental health services and training the next generation of mental health professionals. Blanton-Peale therapists walk with their clients through the challenges of life. They help them to heal, to grow, and to flourish. In 2023, we provided 33,000 affordable mental health care sessions to New Yorkers who needed it most. This includes talk therapy and complementary psychiatric services. Our goal is to help each person become their best self, the person they were born to be and to find their own resilience. And because we work with such a diverse set of clients, Blanton-Peale is a sought-after training ground. Early-career and seasoned social workers, mental health counselors, psychiatrists, and psychoanalysts get the experience they need under our expert supervisors' wise and watchful eyes. Our founders, Dr. Norman Vincent Peale and Dr. Smiley Blanton were innovative, forward-leaning thinkers. Amid the Great Depression – a time of rising unemployment, tumult, and pain – Drs. Peale and Blanton were among the first to address mental health alongside spiritual care.
