We are hiring for a Financial Services Representative, who will be located in-person at our Seattle (First Hill) branch, to join our passionate agency and be part of the ever-growing field of behavioral health services. The hours for this position are 6am – 2:30pm. The pay range is $22.50-$24.84/hour depending on experience.
Requirements:Finance Front Desk
- Employee is available and accessible at their Finance front desk.
- Handle outgoing calls, incoming calls, and face-to-face communications with clients, insurance, and THS staff.
- Assesses the patient’s ability to pay, establishing payment arrangements, counseling patients on THS financial assistance and government programs, and following-up to facilitate prompt and accurate resolution of outstanding balances.
- Creates daily deposit logs using credit/debit card settlements, checks, and cash payments. The Financial Services Rep will makes sure to scan all deposits to appropriate folder for retrieval by the Senior Accountant.
- Maintaining HIPAA patient confidentiality standards for medical and financial information.
- Cash handling and ability to take deposits to bank as needed.
- Client Account Maintenance
- Posting charges to clients’ accounts.
- Applying payments from clients.
- Regularly reviews client census for specific branch and makes payer/eligibility updates as necessary.
- Reviews Eligibility Report sent every 2 weeks and takes necessary action.
- Reviews the Admission Report and takes necessary action.
- Regularly sets up payer information using Financial Intake Forms submitted daily.
- Submits KC UDD forms as needed for KC authorizations.
- Communication
- Strong communication with manager regarding personal matters that interfere with job functionality
- This includes calling in and arriving late to shift.
- Communication with peers for resolution of issues.
- Communication with manager regarding issues that need escalation or help from other departments/leadership.
- Attendance
- Attendance and punctuality are key for this role as the clientele often rely on a face-to-face interaction with Finance at this location as early as 6:30am.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years of billing and/or collection experience in a healthcare-billing environment, preferably within Washington State.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with an emphasis on customer service.
- Ability to work in high volume environment with various pressing priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to be a well-organized and detail-oriented multitasker.
- A major plus would be a great understanding of commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid.
