SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for overseeing operations at our Houston, TX waste facility. Reporting to the site manager, this position will be responsible for effective management of labor, productivity, quality control, and safety measures for the Operations Department. The ideal candidate will be a results-focused leader with progressively more challenging roles in Operations or related fields.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure that the operation is managed in a correct, cost effective and timely manner in alignment with permit specifications and quality requirements.

Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices.

Examine financial data/statements and use them to improve profitability.

Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.

Monitor water, oil, and solidification KPI’s for abnormalities. Plan and execute KPI variation countermeasures.

Recruit, train, supervise, and appraise employees. Accomplish results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

Analyze process workflow, employee and space requirements and equipment layout; implement changes.

Plan, schedule, and review waste outlet availability, manpower and associated outbound transportation vendors to make sure targets are being met on a cost-effective basis.

Forecast requirements; prepare an annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiating corrective actions.

Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends.

Oversee process workflow, employee and compliance requirements and facility needs as they occur.

Manage Waste to Energy streams, both outlet availability and transportation.

Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints.

Partner with Safety team to ensure all processes remain compliant with OSHA and other governmental regulations.

Purchase materials, plan inventory and ensure warehouse efficiency.
REQUIREMENTS

High School degree or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree a plus

5 years’ progressive experience in management, operations, and leadership

Knowledge and understanding of general finance and budgeting, including profit and loss and balance sheet

Experience supervising and mentoring employees at the field level

Ability to build consensus, collaboration, and relationships among managers, partners, and employees
