We are seeking a talented individual with strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills to join our insurance and financial services agency. Agent Assistants are the first point of contact for customers' product and service issues, so we are searching for individuals with a commitment to customer satisfaction and an ability to make quick and accurate decisions. The candidate we choose will work closely with the agency owner to establish daily, weekly, monthly and annual goals and will take ownership in attaining established goals.
Job Summary:
The Agent Assistant role is responsible for general office and clerical duties, managing calendars/schedules, client relations and developing new business.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Quote new business for property and casualty insurance
- Schedule Client Account Review appointments
- Schedule/Reschedule appointments for clients and prospects
- Provide insurance applications and other documents to clients for signature
- Complete and submit insurance applications for underwriting approval
- Handle customer service needs
- Handle and document client service issues
- Accept client payments and assist with billing issues
- Work with home office to discuss client policy changes
- Register, track and schedule all continuing education requirements for the office
- Monitoring pre-lapse and lapse listings and contacting clients as needed
- Managing the office in the agency owner's absence
- Faxing, filing, mailing, copying, scanning, document shredding
- Light cleaning duties as needed
- Other requirements as assigned by agent
Requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of basic computer systems, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products
- Ability to work with a wide range of clients and agency personnel
- Be very good with numbers and financial calculations
- Willingness to accept new challenges in the workplace
- Ability to work without supervision

The successful candidate will possess the ability to be licensed in property and casualty insurance in the state of Illinois, so a current license is preferred but not required at the time of hire. Also experience in the insurance and financial services industry is preferred but not required. On the job training and assistance in obtaining necessary licensing will be provided

Hours:
8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, with occasional extra days or alternating of days and other times outside of normal working hours for special events and vacations. Schedule subject to change based upon business needs.
