We have an opening to join our Team (Whitewater, WI) as a Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift. This position supports maintenance and repairs at our plastic manufacturing facility. Responsibilities include:
Position Responsibilities:
- Overall maintenance of all equipment and facilities.
- Troubleshooting operating issues and making reliability improvements.
- Installing and testing new machinery under guidance.
- Performing and improving preventive maintenance.
- Building platforms, stands, carts, and tables for production.
- Operating basic maintenance shop equipment.
- Performing routine housekeeping.
- Recording and submitting accurate work records and quality data.
- Following PPE and safety rules.
- Training others as directed.
- Participating in safety and gemba walks.
- Making independent decisions and prioritizing tasks.
- Engaging in problem-solving and continuous improvement activities.
- Contributing to preventative maintenance planning and execution.
Job Skills Requirements:
- Self-starter with a sense of urgency, team-oriented, organized, and excellent follow-through skills.
- Ability to diagnose and perform hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical repairs on injection molding presses and custom machinery.
- Knowledge of PLC programming and automation is desirable but not required.
- Basic machining operation skills.
- Ability to work from instructions, drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency in using measuring devices and diagnostic tools.
- Consistent performance meeting department standards and quality targets.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience Requirements:
- 3-5 years’ maintenance experience in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical disciplines.
- Machine preventive maintenance and repair experience is highly desired.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods in a manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to dust, noise, and temperature variations in a normal factory environment.
