JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in promoting a positive climate for learning.
Assist in fostering a cohesive group while meeting individual needs.
Assist in providing an environment and schedules that enhance learning.
Use appropriate language and communication with children.
Use appropriate teaching strategies.
Demonstrate appropriate motivation and guidance techniques.
Assist in constructing appropriate curriculum.
Assist in assessing children's learning and development.
Assist in establishing reciprocal relationships with parents.
Advocate for children and families.
Support the teaching team through active participation.
Assist in following through with individualized intervention plans.
Assist in implementing individual and transition plans for children.
Assist maintaining daily and cumulative records such as attendance, in-kind forms, CACFP meal counts and etc.
Prepare and/or serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks to children and clean up afterward.
Ensure CACFP point of service is completed at mealtime.
Assist with two (2) home visits to each child’s parents within the year to assess the family’s needs and to share information about the child’s educational needs and goals.
Support Bus Drivers in developing bus riding plans for children as needed.
Be familiar with and follow Head Start Performance Standards and program policies.
Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and in-services assigned.
Support diversity in the classroom and workplace.
Coordinate work schedule to meet program needs.
Interpret for bilingual classes if assigned Demonstrated skill in utilizing computer software such as e-mail, Microsoft Word, along with the ability to complete program forms on-line.
Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
