Job Summary:
The Assistant Superintendent is considered a Superintendent in training, and works under the direct supervision of the assigned Superintendent.
General Duties:
- Perform Daily Site Inspection
-
Perform WTP Orientation and print badges for all personnel
-
Collect equipment operator certifications
-
Collect subcontractor and employee safety information
-
Collect Crane and Operator certifications
-
Collect and update SDS
-
Maintain daily subcontractor communication and coordination.
-
Maintain jobsite safety practices
-
Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through own actions and mentoring others
-
Complete Safety Citations as needed
-
Complete accident investigations
-
Permit and Check hot works and hot work areas during the day and at end of work day
-
Permit and Check any Safety Permitted activities before, during and after work
-
Monitor SWPPP
-
Maintain good relationships with internal and external clients, including representatives of Owner, Architect/Engineer and Partners
-
Pictures of ongoing work
-
Complete and distribute Daily Reports to document weather and field conditions, trade and subcontractor manpower, progress and conditions impacting the project, as well as Accident Reports, etc.

Collect and review subcontractor Daily Report

Be involved in maintaining project schedule each day
-
Maintain a presence in each work area each day
-
Check all work compliance with the Construction Documents
-
Posters up to date
-
Monitor site cleanup efforts and supplement laborers as needed to provide clean jobsite

Coordinate and direct laborers as needed
-
Monitor and replace as necessary dumpsters
-
Compile and review all inspections
-
Verify all inspections have been done
-
Review subcontractor documentation for and periodically inspect:

Scaffold
-
Equipment
-
Power cords
-
Temporary electric panels
-
Fire extinguishers

Barricades
-
Harnesses and Fall Protection

Hot work
-
Rigging
Qualifications and Skills
-
Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related discipline or at least 1+ years of field construction experience

Construction experience preferred
-
Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook
-
Experience using construction software preferred
-
Must be able to multi-task; prioritize; and work with minimal supervision
-
Must have strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills
-
Strong interpersonal skills
-
Required travel to project sites with exposure to heavy equipment and environmental conditions 90% of the time
-
Works in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees
-
Candidates must have exceptional time management skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritize and work with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail is a must.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly are essential.
- Candidates should also be comfortable with frequent travel and living on project sites.
