We seek a passionate and dedicated Spanish Immersion After School Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Our highly regarded after-school program provides exceptional educational enrichment and community activities for elementary-age children and their families. Operating from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on school days, our program offers a diverse curriculum including Academics, STEM, The Arts, Cultural & Diversity, Outdoors/Physical Activities, Mindfulness/Social Emotional Learning, and Community Recreation activities. With over 50 specialty classes and 20 student clubs, we ensure that every child has the opportunity to explore, enhance, and celebrate their unique talents.
Position Overview: Spanish Teacher (Grades K-2)
We're excited to offer an incredible opportunity for a Spanish Teacher to join our vibrant team from September 2024 to June 2025. This part-time, on-site role involves teaching Spanish language skills to elementary school students in an engaging and interactive manner. Your responsibilities will include planning and delivering lessons, assessing student progress, and providing feedback to students and parents.
Who We're Looking For:
- Availability: Weekdays between 2:00 PM and 4:30 PM or 2:30 PM and 5:00 PM.
- Qualifications: Minimum of an associate degree with at least two years of experience in an educational setting.
- Fluency in Spanish and English: Essential for effective communication and teaching.
- Experience: Teaching Spanish to elementary school students is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Creativity: Ability to design interactive, age-appropriate activities that captivate and inspire children.
- Team Player: Collaborative spirit thrives in a dynamic school environment.
- Responsiveness: Consistently responsive via email and committed to building lasting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Passion: Naturally engaging, approachable, and passionate about child education.
Your Role:
- Cultivate a safe, organized, and stimulating learning environment.
- Develop and implement weekly activity plans with a focus on Spanish language immersion.
- Foster skill development through fun, educational activities.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including snack times, transitions, and dismissals.
- Implement effective classroom and behavioral management strategies.
- Actively engage in all aspects of the program to ensure safety and promote student participation.
- Attend meetings, training sessions, and special events as required.
- Serve as a positive, adaptable role model for our students.
- Efficiently manage program resources.
