For 50 years, Bet Tzedek Legal Services has provided high-quality, free legal services to Los Angeles’ most vulnerable residents. Bet Tzedek seeks a Program Coordinator to join Bet Tzedek’s Self-Help Clinics operated by the Access to Justice Program. This key team member will provide logistical support to the Self-Help Conservatorship Clinic and Elder Abuse Restraining Order Clinic. The clinics operate in a fast-paced environment assisting members of the public experiencing stressful situations.
The ideal candidate will possess the interpersonal and organizational skills to thrive and deliver effective support to clinic team members. Daily tasks will include handling inquiries from litigants, registering litigants for services, document preparation, high volume of data management, supporting virtual workshops, team schedules and calendars, booking appointments with clients, and document creation.
This position is eligible for Bet Tzedek Legal Services’ hybrid/remote workplace designation. While the primary workplace is Bet Tzedek’s offices, at the discretion of the immediate supervisor, the employee may be permitted to work remotely or may be required to work in other locations depending on workload/business obligations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Support daily activities of self-help clinics.

Support maintenance of the Btshcc.org platform, including responding to online inquiries for assistance.

Manage scheduling and coordination of meetings and virtual workshops, including logistics, materials, and RSVP’s.

Support coordination of pro bono involvement.

Communicate (via phone, e-mail, mail) with litigants, staff, and service providers.

Prepare and organize correspondence, communications, reports, and other documents, using various software, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Lawyaw.

Assist with the administrative aspects of opening and closing files.

Timely entry of case and client information into case management database.

Maintain well-organized files and records and accurate clinic statistics.

Monitor and triage incoming communications.

Perform clerical work, including but not limited to photocopying, scanning, filing, and mailing.

Participate in in-person community outreach workshop and education events.

Support supervisor with data reporting.

Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements:
- AA/AS and/or BA/BS degree; or high school diploma or GED (required).

Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a professional office setting (preferred).

Excellent time management, project management, and problem-solving skills (required).

Exceptionally organized and self-motivated, with excellent attention to details (required).

Excellent people skills (required) and experience in working with clients in crisis or distress (strongly preferred).

Willingness to train and work with volunteer attorneys and students (required).

Familiarity with Legal Server or other cloud-based case management system (preferred).

Ease with oral and written communication in, and ability to provide oral interpretation and written translation to and from, English and Spanish (required).
