EXPERIENCED - Buyer Specialist
This is a CONTRACT position for our client in the oil and gas industry located in CHARLESTON, WV.
This role supports internal stakeholders as related to Materials & Equipment Surplus and Asset Recovery Processes. The Asset Recovery Coordinator facilitates internal redeployment and external sales, maximizing the return on material & equipment that are excess, obsolete or have reached the end of their operational life. The ability to effectively work with a wide variety of stakeholders of diverse backgrounds will be critical for success in this position.
What You'll Do
- Act as key interface with business clients in both operations and projects related to managing surplus, overstock and obsolete materials.
- Establish and maintain relationships with 3rd party companies which specialize in the marketing and sale of surplus materials and equipment.
- Develop internal processes to facilitate the visibility and redeployment of surplus materials and equipment.
- Provide subject matter expertise to internal clients and colleagues related to Surplus & Asset Recovery activities.
- Support multiple lines of business, including Gas, Liquids and Energy.
- Support multiple jurisdictions, including Canada, US and Mexico.
- Administer, and ensure compliance with TCE Asset Recovery processes and procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement in Asset Recovery to maximize efficiency and revenue, while maintaining high levels of client engagement and satisfaction.
- Support short and long-term goals and objectives for TCE Asset Recovery activities
- Work with internal clients to identify scrap and surplus material that is eligible for redeployment, sale or disposal.
- Support development of marketing plans and manage the disposition of surplus, obsolete, and end of lifecycle materials and equipment in a manner that optimizes the overall return for TCE.
- Support identification of potential brokers and/or buyers, obtain and compare quotes, and document sales utilizing standard internal documentation.
- Work with Community Relations and internal client groups to process donations.
- Administer contracts (Bills of Sale, Purchase and Sale Agreements) associated with the sale or disposal of materials and equipment.
- Interface with accounting for coordination of invoicing, receipt of payment, and verifying receipt of funds.
- Track sales and report Asset Recovery revenues and activities.
- Provide clear and concise performance measurements to clearly communicate Asset Recovery process performance.
- Support provision of Asset Recovery training to internal stakeholders within and outside of Supply Chain.
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma is required
- University degree
- At least four (4) years related Supply Chain experience
- Very high attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Strong customer service focus and effective problems solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-starter and able to work under deadlines, with strong time-management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Designation or enrollment in a Supply Chain certification (SCMP, CPIM, etc.)
- General experience with Materials Management & Warehousing functions
- General knowledge of the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process across a variety of commodities
- Experience with SAP and inventory related SAP functions
- Experience with Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Sharepoint, Power Automate and Power Apps
