What we're looking for:
SBM Earthmoving & Construction is seeking to hire a Project Manager. As a Project Manager you will have extensive civil experience, as well as experience identifying, vetting, and managing subcontractors in the construction environment. You'll play an extensive role in the development of projects, adherence to safety procedures in the field, and managing simultaneous projects to successful completion. You will play a key role as SBM grows into new and developing markets. You will report to the Manager, Construction Program.
What You’ll Do:
- Under the supervision of the Director of Construction, provide leadership to projects that are pre-construction and under construction.
- Utilize construction related software (B2W) or other related software to manage budgets, schedules & project documentation.
- Build accurate budgets and maintain budgets through the course of construction. Work on concurrent projects and meet deadlines.
- Develop complete scopes of work for new project developments as well as rehabilitation of existing properties.
- Prepare, monitor and report monthly budget variances and forecast ultimate costs of the project(s) at all times. Ensure projects are trending on schedule and on budget.
- Initiate, prepare, process and review Requests for Information as required by the project.
- Prepare, process and pursue customer change order requests.
- Perform site evaluations, preparing detailed notes and documentation of site conditions for design and engineering, communications to sales and customers, project files and internal reporting.
- Assemble detailed bid analysis to be used in establishing contract values and billing documentation for the project. Work directly with sales and accounting to develop billing documents, which will support new sales.
- Input detailed bid analysis into project budgets. Prepare and manage project budgets.
- Manage the approval of material submittals for the project. Assemble, collate, and process material submissions to project consultants as well as internal departments within Company. Follow submittal protocol. Maintain project documentation throughout the course of the project. Prepare project completion materials for Company and customers.
- Negotiate all subcontractor agreements and all material purchases. Have knowledge of standard contracting practices and the ability to understand, write and negotiate standard contract language.
- Ensure subcontractor adherence to contract specifications. Develop, communicate and implement subcontractor performance expectations.
- Provide input and direction to the design team during the design and development of project construction documents. Perform detailed review and back-check of documents for compliance with Company standards.
- Interface with Public/Private Utility Companies for the design, contract and execution of projects.
- Interface with municipal officials regarding plan submittals, plan checks, processing and the acquisition of all required permits for the project.
- Oversee project commissioning and final reporting.
- Hold and/or attend weekly construction meetings with clients by phone and or in person.
- Deliver the project to Company’s Asset Management team.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Civil Engineering is preferred; or
- Five plus (5+) years of construction project management experience in solar energy projects
- Ability to determine work priorities and review work for quality and production standards.
- Must be highly motivated, adaptable, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work both with a team and independently
- Must excel in customer service and data analysis
- Must have excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Must excel with multi-tasking, problem-solving, written, and communication skills
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
