Job description
G2 Technologies, an industry leader in test and measurement specializing in the design and development of automated inspection, measurement and test systems, is seeking talented professionals for the position of System Assembly Technician.
SUMMARY OF ROLE
The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical assembly of sophisticated automated test systems. They must have great troubleshooting and de-bugging skills to validate their systems. Occasional travel (up to 25%) may be required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies per engineering assembly drawings
· Point to point wire fabrication and panel creation per electrical schematic drawings
· Calibrate system hardware and controls for optimum performance
· Diagnose electrical equipment, control circuits, electro-mechanical test devices, instrumentation devices, NI platform devices
· Maintain a strict schedule to successfully hit project timelines, yet demonstrate flexibility in day-to-day activities to support customer needs.
· Work closely with Engineering staff to contribute ideas to overall system design.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· Passionate about their work and committed to contributing to the success of G2
· Technical Associates Degree or demonstrated equivalent experience
· 5-10 years of experience assembling electrical/mechanical systems or demonstrated equivalent of equipment maintenance in an commercial/industrial setting
· Able to travel up to 25% of the time for Installations and routine maintenance/troubleshooting
· Strong critical thinking skills with proven ability to troubleshoot and debug issues
· Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and desire to learn and expand skill set
· Able to work either independently or in a team in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
· Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
· Military experience working on complex mechanical/electrical systems
· Associates degree in Industrial Electronic Systems or equivalent Technology degree
· Experience installing, troubleshooting and repairing National Instruments hardware
· Working knowledge of NEC, sizing wire and color codes.
· Extensive electric panel, pneumatic, point-to-point wiring, & mechanical assembly experience
· IPC and NEC Certification. Other certifications considered
