We have a great opportunity for an experienced Family Medicine Physician in our growing community healthcare organization! This position will be the Lead Physician in our Mission Viejo clinic.

The Lead Physician is a clinical patient facing position with leadership components. We have a strong preference for someone who is bilingual in English & Spanish.
The salary range for this position will depend upon education, years of experience as a physician and leadership experience. Our salary range starts at $240,000 and increases in range as noted above.

JOB SUMMARY:
The care provided to our patients is Patient-Centric and meets our commitment to delivering personalized care. The Lead Physician plays a critical role in this delivery of care. The program at Share Ourselves directly nurtures and fosters healthy patients while raising the level of care for patients with chronic ailments. Overall the goal would be to enrich the lives of these patients so that they can become positive contributors to our communities. The Lead Physician uses best efforts to perform the duties of the position. Provides high quality care to Share Ourselves patients and helps to develop medical and clinic staff. Oversees clinicians and provides on site leadership to clinical staff in the achievement of quality benchmarks. Provides managerial input to Share Ourselves directives and programs; assists the CMO in the achievement of clinical goals and objectives. The Lead Physician works in the team-based model of care.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Manages the care of patients in collaboration with other health professionals and members of the health care team in order to make decisions about treatment and attain health goals.
· Provide comprehensive care for patients of ALL ages, from newborns to the elderly, treating a variety of conditions and illnesses.
Ensures that medical and patient care provided at our clinics is maintained at the highest levels of excellence and in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and best practices.
· Provides direct patient care in the clinic setting including: assessment, screening, diagnosis, and treatment of patients; determines the degree of disabilities of the patients
· Performs medical procedures within scope of license
· Reviews laboratory, x-ray findings and diagnosis other tests
· Documentation/Completion of EHR/Medical Records timely
· Coordinates and refers services of community resources, placement providers, collateral agencies, the court, or other community partners with families, clients, or patients receiving services
· Ensures that clinic providers are providing quality care appropriate for each patient. Defines quality initiatives and determines competencies.
· Participates in Quality of Care and in Peer Review Meetings
· Performs chart reviews for Physicians, PAs, NPs, and provides input and training as needed. Completes periodic quality reviews at all sites.
· Ensures that patient records are closed timely to permit scheduled billing and analysis activities.
· Works to meet benchmarks and achieve productivity sufficient to maintain qualifications for federal and state funding and grant requirements.
· Meets with the Chief Medical Officer regularly for mutual communication on clinic activities, project status, requirements and compliance.
· Maintains superior expertise and completes continuing education requirements timely.
· Participates and contributes to staff meetings, operational meetings and site lead meetings.
· Participates and attends committee meetings as required.
· Handles special issues, some types of patient complaints and other escalated matters.
· Expected to attend Share Ourselves functions and meet with key stakeholders when requested.
· Expected to participate in provider on-call duties.
· Completes other duties as requested or assigned.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES
· Supervises and directs Physicians and APC's engaged in clinical care at designated Share Ourselves location
· Is up to date on Share Ourselves policies and procedures and enforces all policies without favoritism.
· Is able to promote cooperation and minimize conflict among team members through appropriate hiring, training and counseling.
· Completes and contributes to performance appraisals for clinical staff and other staff as requested by the CMO.
·Interviews, hires, and conducts on-boarding for new hire clinicians at designated clinic.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Desire to work with an ethnically diverse population (All ages)
· Knowledge of the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model of care.
· Working knowledge of direct outpatient care and management methods and practices in a community clinic setting. Prior experience in a similar setting is preferred.
· Basic knowledge of local, state and federal regulations relating to care of patients in a clinic setting; and prior experience with county, state and federal programs such as CHDP, FPACT, EWC, Medi-Cal is preferred.
· Must be able to adhere to all client related policies and procedures including confidentiality and HIPAA.
· Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions in a clear, concise and proactive manner, including recognition and resolution of costly errors
· Ability to develop and maintain cooperative relationships with staff members, patients and other clinicians and work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
· Ability to communicate and work well with all cultural and ethnic populations in the community, including fluency in written and spoken English. Bi-lingual English/Spanish highly desired
· Have a valid California Driver's License, auto insurance, and accept travel assignments on the job as directed by the clinic.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
· Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine (Family Medicine)
· A valid unrestricted license from the California Medical Board to practice as a physician in the state of California, with no pending or previous disciplinary action from any state licensing entity.
· Must be Board Certified in primary care specialty; able to be credentialed in a Orange County CA FQHC.
· Four years of experience in clinic based or community health center environment preferred
· Current DEA license unrestricted and BLS certificate.
· Education, training and experience necessary to meet the underwriting requirements of Share Ourselves malpractice insurance coverage,
· Leadership and/or management skills and experience valued
· Proficient Use of Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
· Uses electronic medical record software ; develops proficiency within 3 months of training (EPIC)
