We are currently looking for Fish Cutters. Cuts whole fish and/or fillets into appropriate customer specifications/requirements. Ensures accuracy of order fullfillment while maintaining product quality. Support the processing of fish and seafood products.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and create a variety of sushi dishes according to recipes and customer preferences
- Ensure the quality and freshness of ingredients used in sushi preparation
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the sushi preparation area
- Follow food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure safe food handling and storage
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate food production and ensure timely service
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Train and supervise junior sushi chefs, as required
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or relevant role in the food industry
- In-depth knowledge of sushi preparation techniques and Japanese cuisine
- Proficient knife skills for precise cutting and slicing of ingredients
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills to ensure efficient food production
- Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with kitchen staff
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Skills:
- Food safety knowledge and certification
- Proficiency in knife handling and cutting techniques
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils used in sushi preparation
- Experience in fish filleting, or other relevant food preparation techniques
