Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll management and financial concepts, with the ability to analyze data accurately.
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for our clients' employees ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data
- Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
- Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
- Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
- Prepare general ledger entries related to payroll
- Assist with audits and tax filings related to payroll
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role
- Knowledge of payroll processes including account reconciliation, debits/credits, journal entries, and tax calculations
- Familiarity with 10-key typing for data entry accuracy
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data and ensure accuracy in calculations
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with payroll software systems
- Understanding of labor laws and regulations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information
