We are looking for a Recertification & Compliance Analyst with HUD/Sec 8/LIHTC experience, preferably fluent in Spanish to provide support to our Recertification department.
This position will not complete recertifications. but will provide admin support to the department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform compliance tasks, including but not limited to assist with the process of resident certifications, monthly voucher preparation, repayment agreement generation, waiting list applicant processing, and compliance reporting.
- Verify/monitor to ensure properties are in compliance with applicable Affordable Housing Program rules and regulations.
- Staying current on all HUD updates and program requirements. This will include attending periodic compliance training/webinars.
- Respond to compliance-related questions from Management.
- Verifying compliance with Fair Housing standards and Management policies and procedures.
- Work with Director of Compliance to develop and execute action plans for non-compliant properties, including corrective action plans based on internal/external audits. and Property Management team to develop action plans for non-compliant properties, including corrective action plans based on internal/external audits.
Requirements:
- Education: bachelor’s degree preferred. Current compliance certifications for HUD and tax credit preferred or ability to attain certifications within six months.
- Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience in national/multi-regional Property management, asset management, or affordable housing regulatory organization/agency.
- Must possess knowledge of HUD, LIHTC, and/or other affordable housing programs.
- Experience in the use of property management/compliance monitoring software preferred.
Skills:
- Read/interpret complex documents, such as regulatory agreements and compliance regulations.
- Work as an effective team member, and in a collaborative manner with staff, peers, and supervisor
- Interpret and understand tenant file information.
- Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, including the ability to provide technical assistance on complex compliance issues in layman’s terms.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) highly preferred
- Notary Public a plus
