Maintenance Technician
The Best Western Plus Fillmore Inn & Executive Residency is looking for a Maintenance Technician to assist with routine preventative maintenance and daily work orders submitted by both guests and staff. The Maintenance Technician adheres to maintenance programs aimed at maintaining a zero-defect environment for our guests. Inspects, maintains, and repairs all mechanical, electrical, and other equipment used by the guests or affecting the quality of their experience while visiting the property. Promotes an atmosphere of hospitality and superior customer care for our hotel guests.
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Essential Functions:
· Identifies successes and opportunities through regular performance evaluations with Maintenance Manager.
· Maintains complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
· Creates a safe and attractive environment for guests and associates by ensuring the hotel is maintained in accordance with safety standards.
· Completes hotel room and building repairs such as replacing ceiling tiles, filters, light bulbs, patching vinyl, and painting. Performs repairs on toilets, sinks, laundry facilities, kitchen and other hotel property.
· Maintains safety and cleanliness of the exterior of the hotel, grounds, pool and exercise room.
· Ensures hotel adheres to all regulatory and safety standards by meeting with government and insurance inspectors and taking correction action as needed, including reporting deficiencies to Maintenance Manager.
· Maintains log for pool chemicals as required by state statutes.
· Accurately records maintenance issues in maintenance log and reviews log periodically to determine needed corrective actions.
· Maintain clean and professional appearance, including interaction and communication with all guests.
· Updates and maintain Safety Data Sheets.
· Adheres to OSHA and hotel implemented safety programs.
· Maintain inventory of all maintenance supplies.
· Inspects equipment regularly ensure proper function and use.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Knowledge of PTAC units.
· CPO certification preferred (or CPO class paid by employer)
· Experience working safely with heavy machinery and tools.
· Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing maintenance.
· Experience with general maintenance tools.
· Troubleshooting ability with skills in painting, HVAC, and carpentry.
· Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
· Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, and reach upward.
· Ability to climb ladders.
· Ability to tolerate exposure to extreme temperatures and cleaning and pool chemicals.
· Ability to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers.
· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
· Basic computer skills – Email, Internet, Excel, Word, etc.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
