As a rear load driver, you will be responsible for operating a rear load garbage truck to collect and dispose of waste from residential and commercial areas. You will adhere to safety protocols, navigate routes efficiently, and ensure proper disposal practices.

Continuously meet driver expectations and requirements, i.e., pre/post trip, fuel and wash truck, VIR, Customer Tags, Radio usage, secure load,

Maintain all CDL driver qualifications and valid driver’s license

Maintain an acceptable MVR Motor vehicle Record

Participate in on-the-job training to learn to operate other trucks and/or equipment

Assist in mapping routes and use route books to ensure consistency and timeliness

Follow oral and/or written instructions

Observe legal and defensive driving practices

Work independently and perform duties without close supervision

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

Typically performed in the field, which requires travel daily from site to site

The position involves work outdoors on a year-round basis and is subject to extreme weather conditions.

May be exposed to waste, including blood-borne pathogens, insects, animals and other exterior hazards.

The noise level is moderate to loud.

Sit, stand, walk, bend, reach with arms and hands at or above shoulders, kneel and stretch, and the ability to climb into or exit a truck and/or other equipment.

Lift, push, carry and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis, and up to 90 lbs. as needed using proper lifting techniques.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to include repetitive grasping and reaching.
