Grinder Operator is responsible for all aspects of ground meat production including;
- Setting up and inspecting grinders
- Moving tubs of trim from the production table to the grinders
- Maintaining order integrity
- Producing ground meat to order
- Producing Seasoned Ground Products to order
- Stacking ground meat into trays for packaging
- Cleaning and Inspecting Grinders between lots
- Ensuring temperatures meet food safety guidelines
- Assisting the rest of the packaging department in completion of packaging duties which may include:
- Setting up packaging machines
- Labeling Products
- Packaging in Crates or Boxes
- Weighing and stacking orders onto carts
- Placing and retrieving orders from freezers
- Filling in for other operators as needed
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate for this position is comfortable on their feet for long hours and able to lift to 75 lbs. over their shoulders on a regular basis. Employees should be comfortable reading and interpreting written instructions in English. Employees should be able to read and record data including lot numbers and temperatures. Requirements:

- Employees must be over the age of 18 to work in a manufacturing facility in Idaho.
- Employees must be authorized for employment in the United States.
- Employees should have reliable transportation.
- Able to stand on concrete floors for up to 10 hours
- Able to work in cold environments for up to 10 hours

Job Description
Packaging employees work primarily in cold and freezer environments packaging meats from the production side of processing. As a meat packer, it will be your responsibility to inspect, weigh, clean, wrap and package all meat products. You will be required to adhere to and uphold strict health and safety guidelines, load and unload boxes, and ensure that all orders meet customer specifications. You will be working with a team using industrial machinery to package and sort the meat products. Employees should anticipate cross training and working multiple positions to ensure the small team is as efficient as possible.
Responsibilities
- Packaging cuts of meat, not limited to bison, beef, lamb, hog, goat, rabbit and more.
- Ensuring that all orders are complete and accurately documented and boxed.
- Knowing the variety of Meat Cuts is required.
- Weighing and labeling products accurately.
- Working in a fast-paced environment.
- Occasional duties in frozen storage.
- Responsible for the safety, cleanliness of working environment while staying compliant with all USDA guidelines.
- Coordinate with packaging manager at the end of each shift to ensure that all designated orders have been completed and items have been stored properly.
- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are required.
- KITCHEN: prepare specialty items such as cased sausage, smoked products and patties per customer specifications.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Qualifications
- Must be physically fit to push, pull, lift at least 50lbs and complete repetitive movements
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work in cold/hot environments.
- Ability to identify cuts of meat visually.
- Ability to have a positive attitude and adaptibility in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
