An Accounting Advisor is responsible for preparing and reviewing the general financial aspects of matters impacting our GTM US consolidated assets. The GTM General Accounting group is the primary point of contact acting to ensure the optimization of the financial performance of our GTMUS consolidated entities’ activities and to support both our internal and external stakeholders. They are responsible for keeping accurate accounting records, facilitating proper cash management procedures, maintaining positive business relationships with various departments outside Finance, and leveraging knowledge and experience to assist other departments as various requests or issues arise. What You Will Do:
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements support schedules to be provided to internal management.
- Prepare, review, and approve monthly journal entries including intercompany billings
- Prepare and review monthly actual balance sheets and income statements variance analysis
- Perform research and analysis for ad hoc questions or requests from various stakeholders
- Interact with other groups inside the company (including FP&A, Regulatory, Treasury, and Reporting)
- Prepare, review and coordinate intercompany receivables & payables rollups and settlements for GTMUS consolidated entities
- Prepare AP invoice payment processing and miscellaneous AR third party billings.
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual FERC Form 3 and Form 2 supplemental pages
- Prepare and review account reconciliations and monthly actual variance analysis/ad hoc account analysis
- Coordinate and interact with internal and external auditors on quarterly and year-end audits
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls and related reporting requirements
- Special projects as required
Bachelor degree required in Accounting or Finance
5+ years or equivalent of related experience
Knowledge of Oracle, SAP and HFM
Excellent organization, planning, and analytical skills
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization
Works independently on complex technical issues
Ability to independently research, investigate, analyze, reconcile and evaluate all financial data and make sound decisions
Demonstrates broad business and technical knowledge in resolving problems
Takes lead role on adhoc projects, as needed
General office working environment with overtime required.
Minimal travel requirement.
Company paid international relocation is not offered for this role.

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time. Physical fitness and able to work at heights (climbing wind turbine) and ability to successfully pass working at heights training and certification and wear full fall arrest harness and related equipment
