**This Position is Eligible for a Sign-On Bonus of $2,000**
$1,000 payable on next scheduled paycheck following 30 days of employment and
$1,000 payable at the completion of the conditional employment period which is typically six months in length.
Sign-On Bonus payment will be subject to required payroll taxes
Must work 20 or more hours per week to be eligible
Employee must be in good standing and active status to be eligible for payment
Minimum Starting Hourly Rate: $15.77/hr

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This position provides direct face to face training of individuals served in Training Center Services. Responsibilities include participation in Interdisciplinary Team meetings; documenting service delivery; supervision/administration of medications; and may provide transportation to individuals served between the residence and the Training Center.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Engages in direct face to face provision of Day Habilitation training

Participates in planning meetings to assist in the development of the individual's Person Directed Plan.

Participates in the development and implementation of individual's targeted objectives.

Provides transportation to individuals between their residence and a Day Habilitation site, or to the community to facilitate participation in community activities.

Observes individuals for signs and symptoms of disease, injury, reactions to medications, behavioral changes, or other conditions that warrant medical intervention.

Reports significant changes in individuals' physical conditions or behavior.

May assist individuals with carrying out necessary self-care skills.

Provides direct supervision of self-administration of medications, or administers medications in accordance with Physician’s Orders and as delegated by R.N.

Provide demonstration and instruction for various arts and craft projects
-
May manage aggressive behavior among individuals, and provide intervention to ensure that individuals are protected from harm or injury.

Submits required documentation within specified timeframe (weekly progress note)
-
May provide crisis intervention.

Must maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance with Center policies

Maintain compliance with required annual staff developmental training
-
Performs other duties as assigned.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
-
6 months experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Graduation from a standard senior high school or GED.

Acceptable Driving record

Valid Texas Drivers License

Ability to read and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals
-
Ability to utilize a computer to generate routine reports and progress notes.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
-
Ability to proficiently utilize computer programs, e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel.

Ability to see, hear and talk effectively within job requirements.
-
Ability to stand, sit, walk, or drive for extended periods.
-
Ability to administer first aid or cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), to conduct prevention and management of aggressive behavior (PMAB).
-
Ability to communicate effectively orally, and in writing.
-
Ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs w/ or w/o assistance.
-
Ability to remain calm in emergency/crisis situations.
