Leads and manages a cluster of Clubs regarding employee management and training, safety for members, and delivering best-in-class youth development practices in cluster Clubs. Additionally, the Regional Director is responsible for facility maintenance and upkeep, staff recruiting, retention, and development, budgeting, grant, and financial reporting. Develops and utilizes County boards and community support to improve and support Club operations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Manages and develops performance objectives for Club Directors within the regional cluster. Monitors performance and provides ongoing and periodic feedback on performance; ensures cluster management follows the same activities in their direct reports.

Communicates and implements the organization’s HR and operational policies and procedures; monitors same for compliance. Evaluate opportunities to improve Clubs’ operations.

Oversees training within the cluster related to best practices in youth development, operations, safety, grants, and management.

Provides guidance and direction to Club management and staff on managing crises.

Analyzes and reviews membership levels and average daily attendance for cluster Clubs; partners with Club Directors to develop strategies to achieve and maintain optimal membership and daily attendance levels.

Collaborates with the Vice President of Club Services to determine policies concerning hours, shutdowns, and utilizing community and volunteer support; communicates policies to Club Directors and monitors for compliance.

Collaborates with the VP of Youth Development to continuously evaluate and enhance program delivery to ensure optimal Club experience.

Collaborates with the VP of Youth Development to determine staffing levels that best support effective club operations and program delivery.

Collaborates with Resource Development to support and execute County Board deliverables, development, and civic engagement to achieve revenue goals.

Ensures qualified staff are recruited, trained, developed, and retained.

Collaborates with the Controller and Vice President of Club Services to develop and monitor Club budgets, develop strategies to control expenditures, and achieve a balanced budget.

Implements strategies to track and report grant deliverables. Oversees and monitors grant implementation performance to ensure compliance.

Advises Clubs on income and expenditures and approves expenses that exceed Club management authorization levels.
Cluster Facilities & Property

Assesses risks and implements programs and policies to minimize loss and exposure to loss.

Observe members and work with staff to correct unsafe behaviors, enforce safety rules, and communicate safety guidelines. Ensure compliance with emergency procedures and take action to prevent accidents.

Communicates and enforces organization’s policies, procedures, and standards about upkeep, usage, and maintenance of buildings, grounds, vehicles, and equipment; monitors same for compliance.

Plans and takes action to ensure cluster Clubs are safe, attractive, and well-maintained.
Administrative

Manages the cluster’s administrative processes to ensure that information, reports, and other data from the Clubs are accurate and timely and follow organizational administrative policies and procedures.

Performs monthly club audits on and analysis of membership data.

Assists the Vice President of Club Services in reviewing and creating organizational policies, procedures, and standards.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Education
-
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or 5+ years of equivalent Club experience is required.
Experience
-
A minimum of five years’ work experience at a senior level, during which time knowledge, experience, and competency in the above key roles were acquired.

A minimum of 3 years managing a team.
Skills

Demonstrated ability to manage employees at multiple locations, including budget oversight, team development, and performance management.

Demonstrated ability to organize, direct, and coordinate operations, supervise personnel, recruit and retain key personnel, manage facilities, and develop and manage budgets.

Knowledge of fund-raising strategies, techniques, board development, utilization, and guidance.

Strong management skills.

Knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs, procedures, principles, and practices of non-profit organizations and youth development services, preferably Boys & Girls Clubs, preferred.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision.

Excellent human relations skills and ability to motivate staff and board.

Strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Club staff, Board members, volunteers, community groups, and other related agencies.
ENVIRONMENT & WORKING CONDITIONS:
Typical internal office environment with frequent travel to Clubs and the Support Center. Regular evening work to support normal Club hours and occasional weekends to support the organization’s fundraising events, special events, and activities. Frequent internal contact with employees throughout the organization is required. Physical requirements include walking, climbing stairs, and sitting for four hours daily. Light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.
