Monitoring, Control and Compliance, Inc. (MCC) is a privately owned small business providing services to the solid waste industry. The company was founded by a former landfill gas technician in 2005 with two employees; and has since grown to over 50 employees utilizing a controlled growth strategy.
MCC’s focus is operation and maintenance, design, construction, troubleshooting, and repair of landfill gas and landfill liquids collection systems that are installed to reduce the emissions of Methane impacting our environment; and provide for a “Green” energy source for our client’s end-users.
Role Description:
MCC is looking for a staff level environmental engineer to join our team full-time, to work in many of the areas where the company operates. As a staff environmental engineer, you will be responsible for assisting project managers, project engineers, environmental professionals, and AutoCAD operators with designing, installing, and implementing landfill gas (LFG) and liquid control and monitoring systems. You will also assist with the preparation of technical reports, perform and complete material take offs, work on and help create system plan and detail drawings in AutoCAD, conduct quality control on all work products (reports, system plans, design calculations, data, etc.) prior to submission, and research equipment and material specifications for project applications. Additionally, you will assist with performing project tasks, ensuring compliance with regulations, and interacting with clients. This role is based in both a field and remote working setting, depending on the phase of the project(s) being completed.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assist with designing and implementing landfill gas and liquid collections systems.
- Create drawings and figures in AutoCAD.
- Create material take offs and research materials specifications.
- Maintain project and design electronic file systems.
- Perform field-based activities associated with system design and installation.
- Attend site meetings and perform pre-design and pre-construction site investigative site visits.
- Work with system operators to understand existing system operations and issues.
- Oversee subcontractors and document construction activities.
- Gather, analyze, and interpret data.
- Input data into reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) is a plus.
- 1-5 years of experience in landfill gas engineering, construction, monitoring, operations, or compliance.
- Experience working in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, other related AutoDesk platform or OpenRoads .
- Experience operating, maintaining, designing, implementing, or installing landfill gas and liquid systems is a plus.
- Experience in regulatory compliance management is a plus.
- OSHA 24 Hr HAZWOPER Certificate or ability to obtain shortly after starting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather and climatic conditions.
- Driver’s license with clean driving record, drug free, and clean background.
- Ability to travel up to 30% to job sites (paid travel and expenses).
Compensation: position and compensation will be negotiated, based upon education and experience.
