The Production Scheduler will report directly to the Logistics Manager, taking on the critical responsibility of developing and maintaining detailed production schedules to optimize manufacturing efficiency and inventory levels. This role is pivotal in aligning production with sales forecasts and customer service expectations, serving as a key liaison among production teams, sales departments, and customer service representatives. Additionally, the Production Scheduler will coordinate closely with the Purchasing department to ensure the timely availability of raw materials, facilitating seamless production flows and contributing to overall operational effectiveness.
Job Scope:
- Create a master schedule based on sales forecasts and customer orders that satisfies customer demand with optimum inventory levels and resource utilization.
- Analyze the demand and supply balance of the product family, determine out of balance conditions, identify alternative and recommend action for approval.
- Maintain planned lead times, lot size, safety stock, delivery times and other fulfillment for all plant, warehouse and terminal locations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor inventory levels necessary to meet short-term and corporate goals.
- Work with Purchasing to coordinate raw material availability and delivery tracking.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines.
- Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts or bottlenecks.
- Communicate schedule changes and provide timely updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Serve as integral player in issues resolution.
- Schedule samplings and production runs to comply with customer delivery requirements and document activities (including invoicing to customer) in timely manner in SAP.
- Work with all required departments to support S&OP processes efficiently and cost effectively
- Review daily and weekly production and escalate at-risk production/ capacity issues
Candidate Profile:
- High School Diploma; AS or BS in Supply Chain Management ideal, with 1 – 3 years production scheduling experience, supply chain exposure, sales support or customer care processing experience in manufacturing industry, preferably in the polymer industry.
- Experience in forecasting, planning and inventory using statistical strategies.
- Strong skills and experience developing/maintaining spreadsheets; SAP preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing customer service principles and practices.
- Must understand bulk truck, tank truck and railcar logistics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Detail oriented and professional.
- Project management experience.
- Time management skills and results oriented with high tolerance for stress.
- Self-motivated and able to prioritize work responsibilities,
