Manufacturing Foreman
Ability Engineering Technology, Inc is seeking an experienced Shop Foreman with a strong background in fabrication, welding, and machining. Knowledge of the ASME Code for the fabrication of Boilers & Pressure Vessels is preferred. Under minimal supervision from the General Manager, the Manufacturing Foreman shall manage all facets of the manufacturing facility to deliver a quality, timely, and cost-effective product to both internal & external customers.
Responsibilities for Manufacturing Foreman
- Plan and facilitate the daily operations of the Manufacturing Department and its staff including the efficient scheduling of workforce and accurate manufacturing of products.
- Provide employees in manufacturing with continuous instruction on proper techniques and procedures with strict adherence to AET’s manufacturing practices.
- Identify material/capacity constraints and resolve internal issues, including material shortages.
- Work closely with all support organizations (Procurement, Engineering, Quality,) to resolve customer/internal issues and mitigate delivery and schedule problems.
- Must spend no less than 75% of the time on the manufacturing shop floor working closely with direct reports during all phases of manufacturing.
- Administrative - Conducts Team Members’ performance evaluations and monitors their adherence to policies and performance expectations.
- Enforce and comply with all Environmental Health and Safety Practices both internally and externally.
- Lead Daily Shop Key Performance Indicator meetings and report weekly results to upper management.
Qualifications for Manufacturing Foreman
- 10+ years of manufacturing experience and 5+ years of welding & machining related manufacturing supervisory experience with a minimum of 20 direct reports.
- Associate’s or Trade-School degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
- Ability to be able to handle multiple priorities and complex problems under time constraints in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Must possess strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to evaluate production reports and metrics and make decisions that impact the results of the area of responsibility to establish short- and long-range goals.
- Must be able to instruct and interpret GD&T and Welding Symbols.
- ISO and Total Quality Management experience preferred, but not required.
Work Schedule/Pay Structure/Direct Reports for Manufacturing Foreman
- Ability Engineering operates 1st shift only:
- Monday-Friday 5:00am-3:30pm, Saturday 6:00am-12:00pm as required.
- Salary Position paid weekly.
- Direct Reports=20 (10-Welders, 3-Machinists, 2-General Laborers, 2-Electrical Technicians, 1-Mechanical Testing Technician, 1-Receiving Clerk, 1-Waterjet Operator)
