We are seeking an experienced Associate Attorney with extensive Personal Injury experience to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation and legal writing. You will be responsible for representing clients in various legal proceedings, including hearings, and arbitrations. You will work closely with clients, colleagues, and experts to develop effective legal strategies and achieve favorable outcomes for our clients.
Please note that candidates outside of the state of Florida will NOT be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including but not limited to hearings, depositions and arbitrations.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to prepare persuasive legal arguments.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Prepare and conduct witness examinations, including direct and cross-examinations.
- Manage a caseload from inception to resolution, including case evaluation, strategy development, and negotiation.
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, opposing counsel, and the judiciary.
- Collaborate with experts and/or consultants to gather evidence and develop case theories.
- Stay current with legal developments, statutes, and case law relevant to personal injury and SSDI matters.
- Attend and participate in case conferences, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior attorneys and support staff, as needed.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school, with a demonstrated proficiency in extensive legal writing and appeals.
- Admission to the Florida Bar and in good standing.
- Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience, with a heavy focus on legal writing and analysis.
- Extensive experience handling Personal Injury cases; SSDI experience is highly desired.
- Proven track record of success in contested proceedings, with a focus on crafting persuasive legal arguments and appeals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in complex legal matters.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen ability to articulate legal concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, including drafting comprehensive legal briefs and appellate submissions under tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy in all legal documentation and filings.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively, while maintaining the highest standards of legal professionalism and ethics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a reputable law firm or corporate legal department.
- Familiarity with relevant software and technology for legal research and case management.
- Membership in professional organizations related to litigation.
