Position Summary:
The Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for directing and leading the daily activities of the maintenance department in the field to resolve equipment issues that lead to maximum equipment reliability for the Alabaster Site

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Serve as point of contact for maintenance work requests and installation tasks throughout the site.
- Assist in the development of direct reports in key areas (technical, communication, transferable skills, etc.)
- Evaluate employee performance with respect to the established goals and expectations for direct reports
- Provide feedback negative or positive on a routine basis to direct reports.
- Utilize reward and disciplinary processes as appropriate to motivate employees to meet or exceed goals and expectations
- Assign resources within department to ensure all necessary departmental and site functions are executed while taking into consideration events such as overtime, vacation, and medical leave.
- Work with Maintenance Planner and CMMS to improve and update work procedures, labor time estimates, preventive and predictive maintenance frequencies.
- Effectively communicates direction, objectives, and results as needed to direct reports.
- Communicates with manufacturing regarding production priorities and progresses information to team on a regular basis
- Communicate production priorities on a continuing basis to direct reports
- Ensure employees are adequately trained and qualified to perform their assigned duties safely and effectively
- Ensure all completed task forms and calibration certificates meet Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and are performed per related work instructions
- In collaboration with the Maintenance Planer assign resources to adhere daily maintenance schedule for each maintenance technician
- Advocate for change and champion change initiatives which can improve current procedures, methods, processes, etc.
- Identify, lead, investigate, and implement changes as necessary thru the change control process
- Report all deviations to QA and affected departments in a timely manner and document in deviation management software, assign actions to responsible parties.
- Balance maintenance work between internal and external resources as necessary
- Assist as needed in troubleshooting & repair of utility, R&D, and process equipment
- Ensure direct reports are maintaining the work area in a state of cleanliness and sanitation through good housekeeping practices and applying good personal health practice.
- Respond appropriately to off-shift problems and maintenance shift problems.
- Manage direct reports overtime at the company’s goal or lower while considering the sites needs for daily proper daily operation.
- Promote integrated work between all skill sets (mechanical, electrical, etc.)
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Lead Maintenance Technicians
- Maintenance Technicians
Education and/or Experience:
- High School diploma required.
- Minimum 3 years supervisory experience with direct reports
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in performing preventive and corrective maintenance and repair of various process and utility equipment. This includes but not limited to pumps, motors, transmitters, PLCs, VFDS, etc.
- Experience in a GMP regulated or Process Safety Management (PSM) industry preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Electrician, calibration, PLC, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, industrial mechanic, or millwright certificate required.
- Industrial Leadership Certificate preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and interrupt general engineering drawings.
- Ability to drive change
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with other leaders at the site
- Strong communications skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to make sound and prompt decisions when priorities change
Physical Demands:
Must be able to routinely climb ladders, move weight up to 100 lbs., kneel, squat, and potentially lie on the ground to execute tasks.
