Job Overview
We are looking to hire a Social Media Content Producer with confident communication and people skills. We are looking for the individual that can oversee and control our social media accounts. You will be responsible for creating original text and video content, managing posts and responding to followers. You will manage our company image in a cohesive way to achieve our marketing goals.
As a Social Media Content Producer we expect you to be up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to express our company’s views creatively. Ultimately, you should be able to handle our social media presence ensuring high levels of web traffic and customer engagement
To ensure success, you should demonstrate a wide degree of creativity and latitude with a keen interest in shaping an organization’s image and values through appropriate communication to the outside world. Top candidates will display natural leadership qualities with fantastic time management and planning skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Write, develop, edit, and publish content and copy for a variety of social media platforms including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Tik Tok, and SnapChat.
- React quickly to breaking news and develop stories based on factual information received.
- Generate exclusive content for all social media platforms.
- Continuously grow a positive and inclusive social media presence by monitoring commentary on all social media platforms under the Spiritual Word profile
- Ensure all-around consistency, (style, fonts, images, and tone) on all public platforms.
- Stay up to date on the latest industry trends, software, digital media compliance, and content rights clearances.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Strong understanding of Black culture.
- Understanding of social media best practices.
- The ability to self-edit work.
- The ability to receive feedback and make corrections based on notes given.
- A creative writer with the ability to write in a witty, fun, and trendy tone to appeal to Spiritual Word demographics.
- Impeccable attention to detail, solid organizational skills, highly motivated, and results-driven.
- The ability to work in a quick-turnaround environment without sacrificing quality, accuracy, or personality.
- Experience with popular social media platforms and trends.
- Relationship management: networking skills with the ability to cultivate strong professional relationships with internal and external partners.
- Proficiency in SEO and WordPress.
- Flexibility in managing multiple responsibilities and assignments simultaneously; ability to meet deadlines; experience managing both urgent short-term projects and complex, longer-term projects.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work holidays as scheduled.
- Legal right to work in the US.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
BA in English, Communications, Journalism, Political Science, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Minimum of 2+ years of professional journalism, communications, or social media experience creating content, preferably for a high-output and trusted media brand.
Experience using Meta Business Manager, Creator Studio, Photoshop and/or other photo editing tools.
