Position Overview:
The Analytical Chemist is responsible for all aspects of RASIRC’s internal and commercial analytical services. This role also provides support to R&D and Engineering Groups for ongoing product development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct analysis of RASIRC products as required to meet defined production schedules
- Coordinate and perform commercial analytical testing which includes but not limited to:
- Customer communication.
- Receipt and analysis of customer samples.
- Review results with RASIRC’s Quality Department and release them to the customer within a defined timeframe.
- Coordinate commercial analysis activities with Shipping/Receiving as well as Finance Departments.
- Define the necessary steps to ensure that both internal and external requirements are met on an ongoing basis for analytical instruments:
- Ensure the applicable instruments are fully functional and are maintained within requirements.
- Define a preventative maintenance program for analytical instruments and perform maintenance when required.
- Document and maintain records of all processes.
- Write and maintain work instructions for in-house processes.
- Participate, as applicable, in various quality audits, both internal and external.
- Assist with Engineering and Research & Development projects as applicable.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Requires bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or similar.
- Citizenship: RASIRC does not assume the responsibility to sponsor employees, US citizenship or Permanent Resident Certificate (Green Card) is required for this job.
- Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with gas chromatography preferably running trace analysis.
- Experience with basic chemical handling (specifically gases).
- Understanding of basic laboratory safety practices.
- Highly developed verbal and written English communication skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Experience with data collection and documentation needed to support typical quality systems such as ISO 9001.
- Self-motivated.
- Comfortable in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Requires working with dangerous and/or toxic gases and the ability to physically control RASIRC designed hazardous equipment.
- Ability to work in class 1000 or better cleanrooms and required cleanroom garb.
- Ability to lift approximately 35 lbs.
- S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.
