We are seeking a Sr. Director of Business Development - experienced in the same vertical segments - to drive client acquisition. This is a consultative selling role where the candidate should have agency, data, direct mail and/or digital services experience preferably at the enterprise level with industry experience. For the right candidate with motivation, this a rare opportunity to join a progressive firm and grow both professionally and personally. Base salary plus uncapped commissions. The individual will be tasked with using their deep knowledge of selling to key decision-makers to qualify, identify needs, and then close the account with the help of subject matter experts. The candidate will perform outbound online marketing activities such as linked-in outreach and social posts, selective cold calling, and related lead generation activities targeting key accounts to identify opportunities and secure sales meetings. The position requires periodic travel to trade shows and conferences. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are necessary for success.
Requirements/Ideal Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications.
Minimum of 10 years of successful solution-based sales experience.
A track-record of doing outreach to key prospects and establishing rapport.
Consultative sales experience – the ability to understand customer marketing goals, qualify for fit with our solutions, uncover budget sources, craft and then persuasively present tailored solutions.
Experience selling marketing services to the c-suite, in areas such as direct marketing, data consulting and analytics services, etc.
Superior communication and organizational skills with the ability to author effective emails; create and edit proposals; manage team calendars; schedule, facilitate and often lead virtual meetings with prospects, customers, and team members; manage messages in LinkedIn.
Great networking skills, ability to work trade shows and conferences to secure new leads.
Ability to conduct impactful virtual meetings with prospects and customers, and travel to visit customers as well as attend industry trade events.
Consistently utilize Salesforce to document sales activity and client / prospect details and provide weekly sales funnel reports to the division president.
Effectively work with partner companies to cross-sell and build strategic partnerships.
Experience using Salesforce.com, MS Office products (Excel, Word, PPT, Teams).
