POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the General Foreman of Electrical and Instrumentation, the E&I Specialist is responsible for the maintenance, operation and expansion of Colonial’s process control systems and industrial networking infrastructure, as it relates to six liquid and dry bulk storage facilities and the numerous product handling systems within each of the six facilities. The E&I Specialist will be responsible for troubleshooting and repair of hardware, software and general maintenance management of the overall process control system environment.
JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES:
- Maintain/Troubleshoot Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition while working in a team environment to ensure proper terminal operations.
- Maintain / Troubleshoot Industrial TCP/IP and Modbus network of PLCs and various I&E field devices such as Coriolis / flow meters, RADARs, motor controllers, motor starter protection relays, PLC Remote IO Racks, flow control valves, etc. Installation and configuration of all field devices will be required.
- Ensure the timely completion of scheduled preventative maintenance inspections, re-certifications, and calibrations.
- Assist with facilitating work order request and execute according to priority.
- Maintain/manage FT Server installation, programming, software updates as well as basic computer repairs.
- Coordinate downtime with operating departments, contractors and utility providers when a shutdown is needed for installation, repair, etc.
- Participate in the design and construction of E&I system replacement and expansion.
- Maintain a comprehensive file on installed replacement equipment and devices as well as project documentation.
- Maintain critical spares inventory to ensure critical spares are on site to be deployed when needed.
- Create, calculate, maintain and monitor the Product Recipe Database for all products controlled by the Terminal Management System (TMS). Including monitoring additive injection rates, blend percentages, flow rates and component alarm log.
- Maintain Plant-wide Security Access Point Control Systems to include automated gate openers, server-based biometric scanning systems and surveillance systems.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- 5 years’ minimum experience as an E&I Field Specialist in an industrial facility, containing numerous process systems and hazardous liquids such as flammables and corrosives, is required.
- Accredited training and certification in related E&I technology and industrial fields.
- Working knowledge of modern industrial process control schemes such as Factory Talk and Tank Master is required.
- PLC based control products such as Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix, PLC5 and PLC 500)
- Instrumentation products such as RADAR, flow meters (Coriolis, vortex, swirl, turbine and mag), pressure / temperature sensors and flow controllers.
- Working knowledge and understanding of NFPA 70E and standard LOTO procedures.
- Working knowledge and understanding of electrical installation requirements for hazardous area classification as it relates to conduit, wiring, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics / drawings and P&ID diagrams.
- Participate in rotating callout schedule.
- Working knowledge of MS office applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Associates degree or Trade School Diploma in the field of Industrial/Computer Electronics or Information Technology is preferred.
