Direct Support Professional
Duties:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Implement individualized care plans and follow behavioral support strategies
- Foster a safe and supportive environment for individuals to promote their independence and well-being
- Engage individuals in social and recreational activities to enhance their quality of life
- Document and maintain accurate records of services provided
Skills:
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Experience in medication administration and adherence to HIPAA regulations
- Knowledge and experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities
- Familiarity with assisted living, caregiving, childcare, social work, or nursing home settings
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with individuals, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals
