The Intake Coordinator is responsible for the initial intake and registration of all new patient referrals for Hematology and Oncology.

Proficient in use of EMR (electronic medical record)

Ability to perform basic functions in Excel.

Typing skills
Certifications/Licenses/Education/or Experience in a related field:
Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program or equivalent preferred, or aptitude for the job duties and responsibilities. Patient care experience preferred. Clinical scheduling experience preferred.

Job Duties (including, but not limited to):

Manage New patient Department Fax Server by reviewing and triaging all faxes to appropriate staff members, in a timely manner.
- Review and triage internal referrals by managing “Group Inbox” in EMR.

Register all new patients into Centricity to create Medical Records Number.

Upload all new patient referrals to Scheduling Dashboard

Confirm demographic and insurance information upon receit of referral.

Help answer telephone, screen, and triage calls to appropriate staff member.

Help manage Canopy dashboard for coming patient calls.

Return patient phone calls ASAP, but within 24 hours.

Attend daily team huddles.
