PTA Corporation, a plastic injection molder and tool builder, is an “entrepreneurial” manufacturer whose customers are leaders in the medical device, defense, homeland security, and technology industries including Fortune 500 OEMs. Our business has started to grow dramatically and we are currently looking for a *NPI Engineer* to join our team.
General Purpose: This position is responsible for the transition of new projects and processes from Tooling to Manufacturing. This position will work closely with the customer to define manufacturing requirements, validation protocols, and to identify and correct issues. The position will manage cross-functional deliverables, track progress, and efficiently execute new projects. Strong leadership and excellent communication skills are required. This position will act as the primary contact between functional groups within the organization and will ensure that all stakeholder requirements are properly communicated and accomplished.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Understand the customer specifications, company standards, and verifying the finished product
- Complete print reviews and defining workflow processes (process flow diagrams)
- Assist with manufacturing plans, ensuring detailed work instructions, and Quality Control Plans are prepared
- Prepare part-specific process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (pFMEA) utilizing team input for all assigned parts
- Analyze statistical data including Statistical Process Control, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (Gage R&R), and process capability
- Validate and qualify manufacturing equipment and processes leveraging standard qualification approaches (IQ/OQ/PQ)
- Provide production support through successful and sustained project launches
- Provide product and process (Manufacturing, Assembly) input to enhance manufacturability
- Prepare and deliver all validation plans, studies, and reports to customers
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field or equivalent experience; Mechanical or Plastics Engineering background strongly preferred
- A minimum of one-year experience working in manufacturing or engineering activities applying problem-solving skills (e.g., Six Sigma, probability and statistics) and process improvement (e.g., Lean)
- Skills and aptitude to lead projects and coordinate the work of others
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of employees, suppliers, and customers
- Experience in writing, reading, and interpreting the documentation of designs and production processes
- Experience with ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 quality system requirements required

This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. This position is fully on-site with some limited availability for infrequent remote work. The standard work hours are between 7:00am – 4:00pm in Colorado or 8:00am – 5:00pm in Connecticut. Occasional need to work a flexible schedule to support varied customer and manufacturing support needs. Position is available in Niwot, Colorado or Oxford, Connecticut. Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year, depending on experience
