The Plant Manager’s role is to lead by and instill the Company’s vision, values and mission at the Plant level, and to be responsible for the overall operational and fiscal success of their assigned plant. To drive success, the Plant Manager needs to be collaborative in coordination with Sales, Customers, Suppliers, Production and Delivery. A successful Plant Manager will create an environment that delivers upon the standardized aspects of the Plant Manager role along with adapting and innovating to the unique elements of their Plant’s location and dynamics.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- All aspects of the Plant’s day-to-day operations
- Developing and leading the Plant’s team, including recruitment, hiring, training, disciplinary action and firing as well as management of functional leaders in QC, Production, Parts/Purchasing, Logistics and Operations.
- Ensuring the Team is safe, productive, and has the tools they need to be successful as well as following policies related to health, safety and labor laws and regulations.
- Setting schedules for the Plant, including planning, purchasing and scheduling of projects.
- Reviewing projects for planning accuracy, description accuracy and parts.
- Maintaining a positive image of and in the Plant as well as creating and fostering an environment where employees want to work and give their best at all times,
- Maintaining a continuous improvement model, to seek out and work on areas of opportunity.
- Investing in your team and consistently striving for good culture (including the embodiment of Company’s core values) and a positive employee experience at your plant.
- Understanding and proactively sharing key measurables related to Plant Performance and Output as defined by Company’s Leadership Team with appropriate audiences and in a timely.
- Working collaboratively with Sales and Marketing to ensure there is an effective system and resources in place to empower synergy between sales and operations in relation to quoting, customer communications and drop-ins.
Overseeing and Ensuring:
- Purchasing & Inventory Control activities to ensure the Plant is purchasing right parts at the right time at the best possible cost while only having what is needed, when it’s needed and ensure it goes to whom its needed when it’s needed.
- That all trucks are being received and delivered according to process as defined in company truck receipt and delivery policies
- The Plant’s management of all aspects of quality control to ensure that all projects meet or exceed Company quality standards as well as all Local, State and Federal mandated operational and safety standards
Accountable for:
- Plant’s productivity and meeting schedules while meeting or exceeding established output plans and goals
- Plant’s financial health; oversees invoicing and accounts receivables (AP/AR), analyzes the plants expenditures and financials; including but not limited to personnel, materials, facility maintenance, et al., to optimize margins.
- Overall maintenance, cleanliness, organization, functionality and safe workspace.

Qualifications
- Education / Experience: Preferred Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university and five (5) years related experience or Associates Degree + extensive equivalent Manufacturing Management experience and/or training is a substitute for formal education
- Industry-Specific Knowledge: Preferred but not required. General knowledge of truck/auto mechanics, repair or body fabrication a plus
- Communication Skills: Strong communication tendency’s and collaborative work ethic
- Presentation Skills: Must be able to speak in front of the office staff and comfortably lead a meeting
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Computer Skills: Good working knowledge of database software; internet software; inventory software; order processing systems; spreadsheet software and word processing software.
- Language Skills: Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
