The Shipping and Receiving Lead oversees the daily operations of the shipping and receiving department to ensure the efficient and accurate handling of incoming and outgoing shipments. This role involves leading a team, coordinating with various departments, and maintaining meticulous records of all transactions. The Lead ensures compliance with safety standards and company policies, enhances productivity, and resolves any issues related to shipping and receiving.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Communicate job expectations and coach employees on what is required by the day or week in their role.
· Provide guidance and leadership to the shipping and receiving staff on training and in the day to day activities.
· Assist with start-up of the buffer warehouse.
· Lead and help maximize efficiency of deliveries and shipments as well as the overall process.
· Enter POs in the receiving software and assist with receiving into SAP.
· Ensure that all items are received, stored, and distributed in an organized and timely manner.
· Provide training to receiving and shipping personnel based on department guidelines and SOPs. First point of contact for resolution of issues or problems.
· Effectively communicate with other areas and Shipping/Receiving Supervisor on any discrepancies in the receiving process.
· Ensure shipping and receiving transactions are accurate, 98-100% of the time. Communicate any discrepancies to Management immediately.
· Hands-on commitment to getting the job done within or prior to deadlines.
· Responsible for efficient and effective coordination of all incoming shipments and merchandise.
· Manage all receiving operations, including unloading and sorting deliveries.
· Work closely with the Warehouse Team Leader E on any task that requires support in Orden to accomplish company goals.
· Manage receiving times to meet production needs.
· Perform the count of raw materials weekly and at the end of the month.
· Re-stock the bulk of garments and materials to the assigned areas.
· Maintain accuracy in warehouse locations.
· Maintain a safe and organized warehouse environment.
· Prioritize safety and efficient work.
· Fill in the end of the day report for the production supervisors and managers.
· Work flexible shifts, which may include nights and weekends.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Proven experience in shipping and receiving operations
· Strong knowledge of shipping regulations, procedures, and documentation.
· Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
· Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Ability to lift heavy objects and operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
· Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
HOURS / SHIFTS
8:00 am to 4:30 Monday to Friday, with availability to work overtime, and on weekends when required.
