Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Radiation Oncologist to join our team in providing comprehensive radiation oncology accreditation review services at multiple facilities across the United States. This is the perfect role for someone who wants to earn extra money, travel, and gain experience in the peer review process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accreditation and Compliance:
- Participate in 14 onsite accreditation surveys (per year) as required by the Radiation Oncology Programs.
- Ensure compliance with national guidelines, including American College of Radiology (ACR) technical standards, ACR Appropriateness Criteria, American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) white papers, and American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) Task Group reports and technical standards.
- Provide a peer review of necessary documentation and data for accreditation surveys, including staffing levels, qualifications, and quality assurance programs.
- Quality Improvement:
- Participate in Practice Quality Improvement (PQI) projects and ensure compliance with the American Board of Radiology (ABR) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) requirements.
- Prepare a post survey report of findings to be submitted to the Chief Radiation Oncologist for each facility.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with medical physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications:
- Education and Certification:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Board certification in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of practice experience in radiation oncology.
- Experience with ACR accreditation surveys and compliance with national standards is required.
Contract Terms:
- This role require that a minumum of 14 sites are visited and surveyed according to ACR guidelines annually.
- Travel will be required for the onsite visit and compensation includes fees allotted for travel.
