Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in behavioral health and have a strong understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles. The Behavior Technician will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide behavioral therapy to children with special needs.
Duties:
- Conduct individual and group behavioral therapy sessions with children using evidence-based behavioral health methods, including ABA.
- Assist in the development and implementation of personalized care plans that align with the child's specific needs.
- Collect and maintain accurate data on the child's behavior and progress throughout the therapy process.
- Utilize medical terminology to communicate with healthcare providers and document medical histories.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to the child's treatment.
- Implement behavior management techniques to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Support children in acquiring and maintaining skills necessary for daily living, such as ADLs (Activities of Daily Living).
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, education, human services).
- Experience working with children with special needs, particularly in a behavioral health setting.
- Strong understanding of ABA principles and behavioral therapy techniques.
- Ability to collect and analyze data related to behavioral health.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and the ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
- Experience with care plans and ability to develop and implement individualized plans.
- Strong behavior management skills and the ability to implement evidence-based strategies.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
