The Network and Systems Administrator is responsible for the planning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of the organization's network, storage and server infrastructure. Ensures that the system meets established uptimes (RTOs and RPOs). Establishes appropriate monitoring mechanisms and works closely with InfoSec to ensure security, reliability, and performance of the systems. Work closely with contractors, managed service providers, application, and services vendors to ensure that the relevant systems are meeting appropriate uptimes, performance, and security requirements. This is a hybrid position with flexible hours working remotely up to five days per month, and onsite in our Kalamazoo, MI Office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Network and Systems Administrator include but are not limited to:
· Support, maintenance and administration of computer network, infrastructure and related computing environments, including multiple remote sites
· Maintenance of high availability and disaster recovery (DR) systems with appropriate RPOs and RTOs and regular rehearsals to validate backup integrity, high availability and DR
· Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems
· Ensure all systems are appropriately updated, patched and secured
· Work closely with InfoSec to install, configure and maintain IPS/IDS, firewall, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Antimalware etc. for maximum internal network protection
· In conjunction with InfoSec establish and enforce policies, procedures and standards regarding LAN, WAN, Endpoint and other computer and information assets
· Make recommendations and engineer systems when needed to ensure existing and future needs are met
· Serves as the technical subject matter expert for planning, maintenance and, resolution of issues related to private or hosted infrastructure
· Research new technologies, recommend the implementation of new technologies and when needed, implement.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No direct supervisory responsibilities, but will collaborate closely with HelpDesk, Security, Developers and other cross-functional teams. This position reports directly to the Director of IT.

Three to five years of work experience in network and/or system administration roles. Strong time management and communication skills required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to spend most of the day sitting, standing or walking. Some bending and lifting as required to handle IT equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
