Community Support Services, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Chief Financial Officer (DCFO) to join our growing team. In this critical role, you will partner with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic direction and leadership for all aspects of our financial operations.
Qualifications:

A minimum of 7 years' experience in accounting in positions of increasing responsibility.
- Masters degree in Accounting or Finance

Senior level accounting work with financial audit experience

Experience with fixed assets accounting

Experience with financial statement preparation

Knowledge of regulatory and other financial standards and requirements

Experience preparing federal and state tax filings

General ledger analysis
-
Financial statement preparation

Bank reconciliations
-
Nonprofit experience a plus but not required

Knowledge of DDA billing systems (PCIS2 and LTSS) a plus

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (SericNav) experience a plus
Responsibilities Include:

Manage accounting functions and preparation of reports and statistics detailing financial results.

Establish and maintain accounting practices to ensure accurate and reliable data necessary for business operations.

Assist with external audits.

Maintain procedures for accounting for the receipt of funds and cash batch entries.

Maintain procedures for providing invoices to state, county and private sources of funding in accordance with budgets and tuition.

Ensure that bank reconciliations are completed monthly.

Complete forms and applications as appropriate.

Assist with the preparation and maintenance of reports needed for the annual audit.

Maintain procedures for obtaining and accounting for client funds.

Monitor collections and accounts receivable.

Prepare billing statements and other financial reports.

CSS is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit charitable organization which provides services and support to children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities residing within Montgomery County, Maryland. CSS was founded in 1994 and began its mission by working collaboratively with individuals, families, and other lead agencies to design and implement new models of service. CSS provides residential services in 50 homes in upper Montgomery County, where two individuals reside in each home with one or two support staff providing care and supervision . Additionally, day support services including vocational training and education are provided in our main center, family homes, and in the local Montgomery County community.
