Position Overview
Core Spaces is seeking a seasoned professional to join us as a Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis to join our finance team in Chicago. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for real estate management with a solid understanding of institutional real estate investing as well as previous experience in real estate valuations. The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, will review forecasting, budgeting, actual vs budget analysis, fund valuations, capital call summaries and reporting functions for the Build to Rent real estate business platforms. The Manager will play a key role with reviewing and delivering financial results and forecasting to the executive leadership team. The ideal candidate enjoys analyzing data, building models, and communicating business strategy and results to executives. This role will have a broad range of preparation and reviewing responsibilities and direct engagement with the senior team members across Core Spaces as well as the executive leadership team.
What You Will Do

Ownership over the corporate model for the Management Company and consolidation, including the 3-year forecast

Lead corporate level budget, quarterly reforecasting, and monthly projections

Analyze, review, and communicate monthly financial actual operating results against budgeted/forecasted financials to corporate accounting and senior team members. Lead distribution of financial results to senior team member with narrative and in-person/virtual meetings to discuss results

Modeling of covenant compliance for corporate loans

Collaborate with department heads across the organization and assist with implementation of department and corporate initiatives

Provide analysis, insight and decision support recommendations to the business to drive strategic objectives and meet key financial and operational business goals

Perform special ad-hoc analysis

Maintain analytical tools to proactively identify variances as part of financial performance reporting
-
Redefining processes that save time while maintaining the highest quality standards, design/maintain data rich and aesthetically pleasing financial reports, leverage internal and external resources to efficiently achieve goals

Work closely with information technology team to use data more efficiently and assist in systems implementations & vigilantly and proactively participate in continual process improvement initiatives

Occasional travel may be necessary as needed

Ideally, you'll have

Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in FP&A within a real estate firm
-
Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or other quantitative field
-
Superior analytical, quantitative, and technical/computer skills
-
Mathematical, analytical, and financial reporting fluency is a must
You'll crush it if you have experience with

Time management and organizational skills
