Early Learning Center Lead Teacher Position
St. Nicholas School anticipates possible job openings for a Lead PK4 teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. We are looking for teachers who are passionate about education and are committed to child-centered teaching and learning. The St. Nicholas Early Learning Center is collaborative and innovative. It is a Reggio-inspired, Nature-based program designed to inspire children to see the world as a place to learn and grow as students and community members. We seek candidates to complement the strengths of our program and add his or her own expertise and background to provide excellent educational opportunities for our students. We are a vibrant professional learning community for children, parents, and teachers. Teachers receive regular support from colleagues and administrators. Regular professional development opportunities are provided and encouraged. We are seeking qualified applicants with a degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education (Master’s level preferred), classroom experience, the ability to work well with parents and colleagues, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and who value a whole-child approach to teaching and learning.
Areas of Responsibility:
St. Nicholas Teachers will:
Demonstrate mastery of the subject matter
Plan, supervise, and implement a challenging and developmentally appropriate program in accordance with the educational philosophy and policies of St. Nicholas School, the curriculum’s scope and sequence, and the prescribed student objectives
Create a safe and engaging classroom community and differentiate and individualize for students as needed by employing a variety of instructional strategies and materials supported by best educational practices to enhance creative teaching/learning
Maintain a clean, attractive, well-ordered classroom
Assess the learning of students frequently and analyze the data to drive instruction and teaching /learning strategies
Maintain current and accurate attendance records and assessments to meet the demand for a comprehensive knowledge of each student’s progress
Maintain open and supportive communication with parents and administration
Develop and maintain rapport with students, parents, and staff to promote a positive learning environment
Attend all staff meetings, required school events, parent/teacher conferences, professional development days, and orientations/in-service
Qualifications:
Degree in Early Childhood or related field (Master’s level preferred)
Minimum of two years teaching experience preferred in a Reggio and/or Nature-based environment
A collaborative mindset and commitment to professional growth and personal development
Experience with child-centered instruction and appreciation of each child as an individual with diverse needs
