Kitchen Quality Control Manager/ Purchasing
As the Kitchen Quality Control Manager, you will be partnered with the Executive Kitchen Chef serve as an integral member of our management team. You will be the expert on kitchen operations from ordering, inventory, to troubleshooting variances. You will be responsible for maintaining our high quality product, the integrity of our kitchen systems, and the financial well-being of the back of the house.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Purchasing all our fresh seafood
- Ensure equipment and tolls are safe and in working order
- Temperature check, visually observe, touch & inspect all perishable and non-perishable products that come through the back door
- Complete opening and closing duties as assigned to set up the day for success.
- Create prep lists for all kitchen crew & ensure they are followed
- Create par sheets for Reelfresh and all seafood items
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas.
- Alert Chef and or management as to any deficiencies of food items and/or any maintenance needs or safety hazards.
- Inspect, select, and use only the freshest fruits, vegetables, meats, fish and other food products in order to maintain the highest standard.
- Maintain quality of food products and ensure consistency in food delivery and standards.
- Ensure proper monitoring storage, (including temperature setting) and rotation of food products to comply with Health Department regulations.
- Making periodic and regular inspections of the kitchen to observe quality of food preparation, production, storage, food appearance, cleanliness and sanitation.
- Works closely with the operations team to develop effective kitchen management systems
- Minimizing and control costs by reviewing portions control and quantities of preparation; minimizing waste; ensuring high quality.
- Creating a positive team atmosphere among members and encourage accountability. Achieves the highest standards of food, beverage, service and hospitality
- Ensure a quality sanitation program is followed throughout the Kitchen operation.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards, appearance standards, workplace safety procedures to include food handling, storage, and temperature, performing daily safety inspections.
- Manage and engage all team members; promote a cooperative effort, team spirit, and good morale among team members; treat team members fairly with respect; compassion and professionalism
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a large Seafood Restaurant
Excellent Communication and Leadership skills
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
Basic math skills required for accurate ordering and inventory purposes
Basic computer skills preferred
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- The potential for prolonged standing, walking, squatting and/or bending.
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
