Position Title:Quality Assurance Clerk

Position Reports To:VP – Director of Retail Lending
POSITION PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to perform standard loan quality assurance review functions; such as verifying document and computer system accuracy, compiling & tracking policy/procedural deviations, loan report review and reviewing all loan documents in preparation for annual audit, while providing exceptional member service and lending staff support. This position also handles the processing of all credit life and disability insurance processing and member supplemental insurance payment arrangements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
1. Assumes responsibility for the efficient, effective, and accurate performance of loan quality assurance functions.
a. Review loan documents for completeness and accuracy.
b. Track all policy and procedural deviations on closed loans.
c. Verify all loan information on the computer system and maintain system accuracy.
d. Ensure issuance of proper disclosures as required by federal regulatory compliance.
e. Review all loan reports for accuracy and compliance.
f. Verify that all loan exceptions are approved as well as any waiver of fees or waiver of insurance requirements.
g. Set up files and review all necessary documentation for filing and follow up.
h. Check all/any alternative documentation for accuracy and potential problems.
i. Obtain and review documents for acceptability against loan conditions.
j. Update the loan tracking as needed.
k. Review the daily, weekly and monthly loan reports.
l. Review all member credit life and disability insurance programs and payments and ensure compliance with company guidelines and procedures.
m. Meet with members who have questions about the various insurance payment handling.
n. Handle consumer loan property insurance tracking.
o. Notify management of operational issues, and provide suggestions for enhancement.
p. Research and obtain needed information, using various resources, under guidance from VP Central Credit and Loan Servicing.
q. Act as backup for the phone/receptionist.
r. Other duties as assigned.
2. Assumes responsibility for the effective and professional performance of quality assurance functions.
a. Presents and explains Credit Union services and products to members and assists in meeting their financial needs. Ensures accuracy of all loan documents within loan files and and on computer systems and performs followup for deficiencies or inaccuracies.
b. Answers questions and solves problems for members by listening to problems, collecting data, securing answers, and reporting results to the inquiring party. Resolves member account problems.
c. Receives and directs members and telephone calls. Responds to inquiries and questions if possible or directs them as necessary. Records and relays messages.
d. Performs file maintenance and account changes as needed.
e. Keeps members informed of Credit Union services and policies, and other related services.
g. Maintains and projects the Credit Union's professional reputation. Maintains privacy of member account information.
h. Actively cross-sells Credit Union products and services to promote a complete member relationship.
i. Attends staff meetings or training sessions as required.
3. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
a. Performs phone/receptionist functions as assigned.
b. Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained,
c. Performs related clerical duties as required.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
1. Loan Quality Assurance Clerk functions are efficiently, effectively, and accurately performed in accordance with established policies, standards, and security procedures.
2. Good business relations exist with members. Members' problems or questions are courteously and promptly resolved.
3. Good working relationships and coordination exist with area personnel and with management. Assistance is provided to other staff as needed. VP, Central Credit & Loan Servicing is appropriately informed of area activities.
4. Required reports and records are accurate, complete, and timely.
5. The Credit Union's professional reputation is maintained and conveyed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:High school graduate or equivalent.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:Solid understanding of Credit Union operations.
Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret documents, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals.
- Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to work with mathematical underwriting concepts in the determination of income and debt ratios.
- Ability to file alphabetically and numerically.
- Ability to operate related computer applications and business equipment including adding machine, typewriter, copy machine and telephone.
- Ability to use word processing, Internet software, E-mail, database software.
- Familiarity with various loan documents and loan files.
- Good typing skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Professional appearance, dress, and attitude.
- Willingness to assist others.

Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.
Physical Strength:Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.

Pay: $15.49 - $23.24 per hour
