Frost Brown Todd LLP, a national law firm with 1000+ legal and business professionals in seventeen offices, is currently searching for a full-time Trial Support Technician to join our firm. The Trial Support Technician will provide eDiscovery support to our litigators during all phases of Discovery, with a focus on hot seat operations and trial graphics creation. This includes operating the Trial Director software and A/V hardware during arbitrations, mediations, hearings, pre-trial and trial.
Job Responsibilities Include:

Assisting attorneys and paralegals with trial preparation, including preparing data for presentations and the set-up and operation of electronic equipment in the courtroom and war rooms. Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to create presentations and other electronic files (example: charts, graphics, eBriefs, eClosing books).

Troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues that may arise during trial proceedings.

Gathering technical requirements for trial sites and provide proposals with recommendations for trial teams. Prepare budgets and outline costs.

Managing and coordinating the presentation of exhibits, videos and multimedia content in accordance with courtroom procedures.

Developing and maintaining documentation on standard operating procedures for trial support operations.

Providing consultation to attorneys for eDiscovery workflow and data management to ensure compliance with legal requirements, following EDRM and FRCP guidelines. Meet with attorneys and paralegals to assess case/client project needs. Provide and coordinate discovery technology assistance including coding, imaging, e-discovery processing, and productions.

Training attorneys and paralegals on document review platforms and best practices for eDiscovery.

Participating in all aspects of a litigation support project from processing through production working directly with attorneys regarding the appropriate selection and use of available technology for database management, imaging, and electronic discovery.

Developing strong relationships with trial support vendors to ensure best pricing and responsiveness on behalf of the Firm.

Managing case data and follow best practice guidelines for Information Governance of client data on the network and other storage devices/areas.

Working closely with all members of the legal team and Litigation Support throughout all stages of the litigation lifecycle.

Meeting and coordinating with other Technology Department members on product installation, training, and support.

Troubleshooting technical issues with software platforms and work with software vendors and IT on issue resolution.

Maintaining current knowledge of available litigation support systems including text search applications, document databases, imaging and electronic discovery tools.
Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and applicable experience.

5+ years of experience using trial presentation software, litigation support tools and multimedia equipment such as Trial Director, Sanction or similar trial presentation tools.

Must have working knowledge of the EDRM guidelines and litigation support processes, including database searching and reporting, and coding procedures, eDiscovery management, document production and trial support. Must have experience with electronic evidence and various document repositories. An understanding of and proficiency with applications such as Trial Director, CaseMap/TimeMap, Relativity, Adobe Creative Cloud and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint.)

Familiarity with litigation procedures, terms, and processes.

Previous experience in a technical, legal, electronic discovery or litigation support environment.

Other assisted review technologies (e-mail threading, near duplicate analysis, etc.).

Experience with data manipulation, conversion, analytics, and reporting.
