The Production Technician position requires experience and skill in Injection or Compression molding technology. This position ensures that molds produce products within customer specifications, perform minor troubleshooting, and intervene to ensure the process flow is running smoothly. This position requires a moderate level of mechanical ability and a general knowledge of the CSI product process flow, materials requirements, and customer specifications. While performing this role, the technician must keep scrap at a minimum, ensure that safety & quality standards are specifically followed and ensure that all materials used in the process match job sheet specifications. Prefer compression or molding experience at least 1 year preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Understands and able to successfully install hosing and ensure correct water flow on all molds.
Proper conveyor and shielding set ups to prevent part loss per engineering standards to include effectively installation of shielding and auxiliary equipment.
Complete Start Ups after mold changes utilizing Mold Set Up Sheet once turned over by COT Team.
Perform Color Changes efficiently to minimize downtime, scrap, and avoid customer complaints.
Pull runners and perform minor mechanical tasks.
Understand how to properly capture and input accurate data into Global Shop Floor System.
Provide ongoing mold care for all tools to include perform required daily cleaning and autonomous maintenance; clean and lube all molds per ongoing schedule as well as anytime a mold is down; changing of Molder and Auxiliary Equipment Filter per assigned Schedule; documentation of cleaning with understanding the importance of documenting activity
Uses only approved brass tools or aluminum tools for job specific tasks and understands reason.
Use approved solvents & lubes for specific tasks when working inside the mold.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of “Mold Safe” protection and how to properly set it.
Understands the different working aspects of each mold (i.e. collapsible core, rack, strip, etc.) & follows correct working standard and procedures for each type of mold.
Understands Runner Strap placement when pulling runners-perform correct runner strap placement when pulling runners.
Troubleshoot minor mold problems & contact Help Chain within a timely manner.
Must be able to understand and troubleshoot material loading system.
Must be able to shut down, pull runner, and restart molding machines and perform these tasks efficiently with minimum downtime.
Must be able to perform a thorough daily material check and process parameter check per schedule.
Salvages parts and raw materials to reduce waste.
Effectively complete 5’s in their assigned area of responsibility
Be able to professionally interact with other employees to problem solve in the moment.
Must follow all safety procedures and requirements to include PP and LOTTV
Understand all emergency procedures and be able to assist others in the event of an emergency.
Must be able to access and navigate and complete all required training topics in Safety, Quality, Communication page, Monday Reports, IFE/IFO reporting and Job Ob reporting per schedule

Prefer HS Diploma or GED certification; require previous experience in injection molding equipment operation and troubleshooting.
Locate and find information on an electronic data base of controlled documents, procedures, training, etc.; ability to focus on details for long periods of time; internal and external customer service is required

Teamwork, positive communication with others, and team problem solving are required. Written communication must follow CSI standards and values. This position requires frequent verbal and written communication with all employees and management at the facility.
The incumbent helps provide a safe work place by assisting in developing, promoting and following practices which prevent injury and meet legal safety requirements.
Follows all food safety guidelines while on the manufacturing floor; Reports any deviation from food safety protocol to the functionally responsible personnel.

Pay: $19.41 - $21.00 per hour
