Quality Assurance Specialist – Retail/Warehouse
General Function: The Quality Assurance Specialist oversees and coordinates all quality department activities at the Warehouse, ensuring compliance with quality KPIs and scorecard metrics. This role drives continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and fosters a culture of excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create a positive and proactive safety culture. Demonstrate strong commitment and leadership to providing a sustainable, and safe work environment.
- Collaborating with HR to ensure adequate staffing levels and leads programs & initiatives to ensure employee development and training, employee engagement efforts, performance assessments and overall employee retention efforts.
- Utilize problem-solving and root cause analysis tools (e.g., Six Sigma methodology)
- Implement Basic Quality Tools and improve quality KPIs.
- Train production staff on quality procedures, protocols, and documentation.
- Oversee and implement quality training systems to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Develop multifunctional plans to improve logistics quality and manage quality projects using effective project management tools.
- Foster a quality-driven culture that prioritizes consumer and customer needs.
- Develop and execute quality improvement plans while maintaining base quality assurance standards.
- Act as a key influencer and leader within the warehouse and facilitating team building and feedback mechanisms.
- Promptly address quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Serve as a liaison between Customer Service and Operations leadership to resolve quality-related issues effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in quality assurance roles, including leadership of quality teams.
- Additional knowledge of Six Sigma, World Class Manufacturing, and Lean methodologies.
- Knowledge and experience with ISO standards, quality training, and audits.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to define and analyze problems, gather and interpret data, draw conclusions, and implement corrective actions.
- Competence with ERP Planning and WMS systems.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Excel (Pivot Tables), Microsoft Project, and PowerPoint skills.
- Experience in successfully developing, managing, and leading cross-functional projects.
