Peterman Lumber, Inc. is expanding its sales team at its Phoenix, Arizona branch and is seeking individuals with specialized industry knowledge, strong interpersonal abilities, and proven sales proficiency.
Requirements:
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding hardwood lumber, mill products, plywood lumber, and melamine including different types of wood, grades, and sizes. Knowledge of milling processes and industry regulations is also valuable.
- Sales Experience: Prior experience in sales, particularly in a business-to-business (B2B) setting, can be beneficial. This includes a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Customer Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including lumberyards, construction companies, contractors, and other stakeholders in the industry.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for presenting products, negotiating deals, and addressing customer inquiries and concerns.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Being able to identify customer needs, propose solutions, and resolve issues effectively is crucial for success in outside sales.
- Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with relevant software tools for managing sales pipelines, generating quotes, and tracking customer interactions can be advantageous.
- Product Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the features, benefits, and applications of various lumber and mill products, as well as the ability to educate customers about them.
- Time Management: Outside sales roles often require managing a large territory and multiple accounts. Effective time management skills are necessary to prioritize tasks and maximize productivity.
- Self-Motivation: Outside sales can be demanding, requiring self-discipline and motivation to maintain a consistent sales effort, especially when working independently.
